Job description

As a Supply Chain Planner , your responsibilities will cover the entire globe. Your task is to keep supply and demand balanced, optimise the inventory , raise MOQs and transport efficiency and constantly improve our supply chain processes.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for coordinating transport activities between production sites, distribution centres and affiliated companies (suppliers and customers).

Your tasks contribute to AbbVie’s success and the health of the patients who are at the heart of our work.

Your responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the delivery of pharmaceutical end-products, bulk, active pharmaceutical ingredients and materials, a task that involves intensive contact and interaction with various AbbVie departments, such as Quality Assurance, Finance, Global Trade Compliance, and Distribution and Logistics;

  • Monitoring the inventories and taking proactive measures to ensure the inventory, throughput times and order sizes are optimised. In the event of problems with distribution, documentation and/or transport, it will be your job to ensure these are resolved efficiently and speedily and to help prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the future;

  • Ensuring that production and dispatch schedules are synchronised. Coordinating the processing of outgoing consignments;

  • Meticulously monitoring the SAP data (execution) and JDA data (planning) and ensuring the systems are synchronised and contain the most up-to-date information;

  • Optimising work processes and the supply chain, while observing KPIs (quantities, costs and on-time performance);

  • Maintaining relationships with important stakeholders.

In short, this position combines all aspects of the supply chain process. While the specifics of the position make this an extremely challenging job, you will at the same time be working to improve the health of people and the quality of life of patients.

Moreover, you have the following credentials:

  • A degree certificate from a university or university of applied sciences; Supply Chain Management, Logistics & Economics and/or Business Administration is preferred.

  • 1-5 year's work experience in supply chain management, including experience with ERP systems (experience with SAP is strongly preferred).

  • An excellent command of the English language .

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or food industry is preferred.
