Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communication, the main responsibility of this role is to coordinate internal and external corporate and brand communication activities for the New Zealand affiliate of AbbVie. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a Communication Graduate who is looking to develop their professional abilities under the guidance of a team of senior communication professionals.

Major Responsibilities:

With guidance from the Head of Corporate Communication:

  • Coordinate and develop internal communication activities including newsletters, executive email updates and presentations for the General Manager

  • Develop social media content for the corporate social media channels

  • Develop multi-media content for use internally and externally. For instance video content that brings the corporate philanthropy activities to life

  • Execute and promote the corporate social responsibility program including coordination of volunteering activities, representation of the NZ affiliate in AbbVie volunteering initiatives and coordination of corporate charitable partnerships

  • Development of creative ideas that help to profile the corporate reputation of AbbVie in New Zealand

  • Under direction of communications and patient relations managers, support execution of disease area and patient relations activities

  • Regular travel within New Zealand and to Australia will be required

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree required. Major in Communications or Journalism preferred

  • Experience with photography and multi-media applications preferred but not essential

Candidate must:

  • Have high level proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram) essential

  • Have proficiency with Outlook applications Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Possess strong writing skills, applicable to various formal and informal business environments

  • Have strong communication and presentation skills

  • Hold strong organisational skills and be able to work both independently and also in cross functional groups

  • Be able to work autonomously

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

  • Possess the ability to work with agility and adapt to change as required

  • Have an attentiveness to detail, and a desire to deliver work to a high standard

  • Be able to manage deadlines well and be responsive to requests and questions from the organization
