Summary of Job Description:
Lead the ANZ financial reporting, analysis and internal controls across both Australia and New Zealand entities, representing combined sales of $302MM and 215 employees in collaboration with shared service centers and 3rd Party outsourcer. Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all local accounting and fiscal processes in Australia and New Zealand in coordination with the Shared Service Centers, ensuring consistency of the information, in-respect to the Australian, New Zealand and American laws and global and local guidelines.
Key Responsibilities Includes:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Period Close - Review and approve Journal Entries, P&L and Balance Sheet prepared by Area Financial Services (AFS) in-line with Global CFM and USA/local GAAP.
Approve intercompany billing, intercompany agreements and incoming performance charges.
Approve requests for capital expenditure, assets transfers, disposals and physical asset counts.
Review and approve Statutory/Fiscal Reports and Tax Returns prepared by 3rd Party providers.
Manage affiliate entity plan and support the annual transfer pricing documentation process in collaboration with Global and PwC .
Monitor and manage New Zealand Advanced Pricing Agreement (APA).
Internal Controls, Compliance & Organizational Effectiveness
Establish and maintain Internal Controls, Financial Compliance, adherence to enhanced due diligence and effective monitoring with training and education of staff.
Manage company secretary duties and reporting with Australia Securities & Investment commission (ASIC).
Coordinate and lead local internal, external and Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
Drive process improvement initiatives across areas of responsibility to ensure the organization is operating efficiently and effectively.
Financial Policies/ Affiliate Document Retention – Establish and manage affiliate policies ensuring adherence to global and local regulations through effective organizational communication, education and training.Financial Support:
Support FD, GM and finance team in development and implementation of initiatives to achieve financial goals. Connect with external stakeholders to gain best practices and become aware of any legislative/industry changes impacting business (including tax, transfer pricing and accounting).
Act as key liaison with AbbVie HR Benefits Manager, Centres of Excellence (tax, treasury, purchasing), Area Financial Services, IBM BPO, 3rd parties and affiliate FP&A.EHS & Facilities:
Via direct staff, the incumbent is responsible for managing AbbVie’s compliance with all Australian workplace health and safety legislation and all aspects of Abbvie Australia’s corporate head office in Sydney including supporting local building management across areas such as emergency/crisis management, maintenance and security.People Management:
Lead, manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team.
Effectively manage relationships with ex-ANZ Area Financials services, IBM outsource provider and Global Centres of Excellence.
Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Business specializing in either Finance/Accounting
Professional accountancy qualification
Significant experience in a similar position with progressive accounting responsibilities
Experience working with shared service providers and/or within an international compan
Big 4 accounting experience, audit and tax knowledge
Essential Skills & Abilities:
Systems experience across SAP, CTE /Concur, HFM, TM1
Have a strong work ethic, problem solving, capable of multi-tasking, excellent communication/interpersonal skills, collaborative with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-motivated with great follow-up skills and be able to work independently.
