General Position Summary/Purpose:

This role will be responsible for managing the project portfolio for our IT group which support Enterprise and Commercial IT applications and systems including Web, Mobile and Collaboration platforms. Systems include Microsoft Dynamics AX, Apttus, Veeva CRM, Veeva Medical, ServiceNow, Tableau, Workday, SharePoint. Organize and drive Vendor Management for the IT Organization in partnership with IT Management and key vendors. Ability to develop relationships with business stakeholders, and internally across IT Management, vendors. This role demands strong, senior PM track record of managing Programs, solid Vendor Management experience, and adherence to IT PMO process.

Key Accountabilities / Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and management of Commercial, Enterprise, Web, Mobile, and BI/DW Application IT project portfolio, reporting to the IT PMO.

  • Pro-actively drive portfolio management coordinating tightly with IT Applications Management, as well as with business SMEs, IT architects, IT business analysts and developers to ensure projects progress from Proposal into Staging for Project Lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Design-Build, Transition to Production, Closure.

  • Guide and re-emphasize to IT Management and Business Partners the IT PMO process for assembling Project proposals and ensuring they obtain appropriate Approvals via steering groups prior to project approval to proceed.

  • Budget Management of the IT Applications Project Portfolio, including monthly reconciliation with Finance.

  • Organize and Drive Vendor Management practices, ensuring IT Management has an established best practice Vendor Management discipline.

  • As needed, author project documentation including Program Charter, Budget Trackers, Portfolio Schedule, Status Dashboard, Timeline visuals – and/or guide other area Project Managers to follow IT PMO process and formats.

  • Professionally prepare presentations for IT, Business executives to status, roadmap, strategize programs and projects.

  • Ensure solutions comply with FDA, SOX, any other regulations throughout the product lifecycle, working tightly with internal PCYC IT Compliance and IT Quality SMEs.

  • Monitor High Risk programs and projects, ensure optimal Risk Management plans exist.

  • Escalate issues to Sr. Management, and to vendor support as needed

  • 60% Portfolio Management; 40% Project Management

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience managing multiple IT projects and programs; exposure to Pharma/Medical Device/Life Science companies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence, negotiate with different levels of management; ability to lead meetings with authority.

  • Seasoned IT/Finance/Project Management business acumen is mandatory.

  • Skills: Program and Portfolio Management, Project Budget Management, SDLC, Business Analysis, Vendor Management, Meeting Management, Team Leadership, Change Management.

  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint.

  • PMP certification or similar project management certification.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations, tailored to the audience.

  • Preferred: 5+ years experience as IT/Technology Manager overseeing Project Managers, Vendors, staff.
