The Market Access, Director of Pricing and Contracting will lead the Ibrutinib Pricing and Contract Team. They will be responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of all commercial and government pricing and contracting initiatives throughout the product lifecycle. This position reports to the Head of Market Access and partners closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to help ensure the success of the Ibrutinib commercial organization.

This individual will frequently collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Executive Leadership, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Finance, Accounting, IT, Government Affairs, Legal, Compliance, as well as external stakeholders such as Collaboration Partners, Distributors, Payers, GPOs, Specialty Pharmacies, and professional advisory firms.

As a member of the broader Market Access team, this role will often be called upon to assist in a wide variety of capacities consistent with a rapidly growing organization.

This is an exciting, high profile opportunity for an expert in pricing, contracting, healthcare policy, and contracting operations to develop and execute innovative strategies that support patient access, coverage, and reimbursement. The ideal candidate is passionate about patients, focused on driving towards results, and is highly proficient at both strategy development and hands-on execution.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Pricing and Contracting

  • Lead development of strategies and tactics within Commercial,Medicare, Medicaid, Federal, ACOs, IDNs, GPOs, and other segments

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses todevelop actionable recommendations that influence decision-making of seniorleadership

  • Collaborate with the Market Access account managementteams to identify, quantify and make recommendations to respond to opportunitieswithin the marketplace

  • Leadinitiatives to gather and apply market insights from primary and secondarysources

  • Continually assess performance of existing contractsand communicate findings to senior leadership

  • Stewardannual and long-range Gross-to-Net financial forecasts for all Market Accesscustomer segments, and provide insight into related trends and variances

  • Guide thedevelopment of internal infrastructure and capabilities, ensuring that broaderMarket Access team needs are incorporated, and that required training andreporting needs are met

  • Steward proposalsthrough alignment and approval process with collaboration partners

Government Pricing

  • Provide overallguidance of Government Pricing contract operations, including ensuring accurateand timely approval and submissions for all Government Prices, such as AMP, BP,340B, URA, NFAMP, FCP, and other federal and state reporting requirements

  • Review andapprove all Government payments, including rebates, chargebacks, and fees

Healthcare Policy

  • Activelymonitor and evaluate impact of policy, legislation, and environment trendsrelated to specialty oncology therapies

  • Summarize andcommunicate key impacts to senior leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Developactionable policy recommendations that support patient access

Contracting Operations

  • Oversee and support all MarketAccess contracting operations, including contract development, redline process,approval, and implementation

  • Continuously identify opportunitiesto streamline contracting operations, including both internal and externalsystems and processes

  • Update and maintain all relevantMarket Access, pricing, and contracting internal corporate policies andcompliance requirements

  • Review andapprove all Market Access customer and vendor payments, including rebates, chargebacks,and fees

  • Review and approve all pricing changes andnotifications to trade partners, contracted customers, federal and stateentities

Additional

  • Provide ad-hoc projectsupport for the Commercial and Market Access organizations as required

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • MBA or MS in related field is preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical / biotech industry

  • 7+ years in pricing and contracting, market access, marketing,finance, or other analytical role in the pharmaceutical/biotech industries

  • Content expertise within theMarket Access space.This shouldspecifically include knowledge of the pharmacy and medical benefits, Medicare PartB, C, and D, Medicaid (FFS and Managed), Federal purchasing programs, anddistribution models

  • Overall knowledge of managed markets, reimbursement,pricing, contracting, and distribution is a must. This person should befamiliar with and able to discuss different contracting approaches, andrelevant topics across both IV and oral oncology therapies

  • Understanding of the evolvinghealthcare policy environment for specialty oncology therapies

  • Experience leading andbuilding teams of direct reports from the ground up

  • Creative problem solver –able to identify, develop, and execute sound strategies with incomplete data

  • Communicates complex conceptsinsights clearly and credibly to senior leadership and other audiences

  • Excellent quantitative,analytical skills with ability to conceptualize problems and solutions

  • Attention to detail at bothstrategic and operational levels

  • Ability to autonomouslymanage multiple projects at a fast pace, with changing priorities andsignificant time pressures
