Director, Marketing Operations
General Position Summary/Purpose:
The Director of Operations supports the commercial organization and ensures flawless execution of customer facing tactical initiatives. This role reports into our corporate office here in Sunnyvale, CA. He/She will work closely with field and home office based commercial colleagues and will have four individuals reporting into them. This is a Sunnyvale, CA based position, and requires professionals that have established management experience, exceptional collaboration skills to interact with multi-functional teams, and exhibit sustainable leadership skills to enable the development of a vision. The key responsibilities for the role are:
1) Strategic oversight and tactical execution of peer to peer education, ad boards and professional congresses and sponsorships
2) Overall management of all contracting processes in support of commercial initiatives
3) Management of commercial medical-legal-review process from concept to fulfillment.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
Strategic oversight and execution of key marketing operations tactics including: advisory boards, professional education (speaker bureau), and major congresses and sponsorships (ASH, ASCO)
Responsibilities include: annual strategic planning in collaboration with brand marketing, vendor management, contracting, and tactical execution, tracking and reporting on all metrics
Commercial oversight and execution of key commercial processes including training, vendor/system management and tracking and communicating metrics
Responsibilities include: commercial accountability for effective medical-legal-review process in collaboration with regulatory partners; commercial contracting; materials management and fulfillment
Responsibilities: Attract and retain top talent; coach and develop team to achieve clearly defined goals and expectations; effectively communicate and collaborate across internal cross-functional teams and with joint venture partners to ensure aligned vision and mutually agreed upon accountabilities to achieve exceptional team performance
Accountable for being fully knowledgeable of all relevant policies and for abiding by these
Bachelors Degree; MBA a plus
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing and sales for specialty products; experience in Oncology or Hematology/Oncology preferred
5+ year of experience leading an internal or field team preferred
Leadership and development: ability to set clear goals and expectations; attract, retain and develop talent; establish and maintain an engaging employee environment
Technical expertise: track record of success in all marketing operations functions including strategic oversight and execution of speaker bureau programs, advisory boards and the MLR process; Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
Strategic agility: Ability to establish credibility as an internal thought leader on strategic and business issues; ability to develop and execute strategic plans for all marketing operations functions and systems; applies and identifies emerging trends; ability to translate strategic vision into tactical action, identify the highest impact ideas and plans and focus efforts by resource allocation
Communication: Listens well; expresses ideas fluently and logically; is open to input and can be depended on for truthfulness; strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact with leadership at all levels of the organization; able to synthesize and concisely communicate complex systems and processes
