The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for completing tasks relating to compliance and planning. The compliance responsibilities include completion of month end accruals, review of actuals vs. budget, providing commentary on actuals. The planning function includes co-ordinating expenses, analyzing and explaining variances vs. previous cycles. This role works very closely with Commercial Services groups.

This position reports to the Finance, Planning and Analysis Manager.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist, in preparation of the Plan, Update, LBE and LRP planning cycles.

  • Responsible for completing the review and analysis of departmental expenses.

  • Completing monthly accruals working closely with Commercial Services groups and Regulatory.

  • Providing monthly commentary of results, Actuals expenses vs Budget, Balance Sheet vs Budget.

  • Preparing monthly reconciliation’s of accounts.

  • Responsible for handling confidential information when preparing planning calendars and deliverables of financial reporting.

  • Provide financial support to managers of Divisions.

  • Ensure compliance in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • System maintenance (TM1).

  • Prepare and develop Standard Costs.

  • Perform Ad Hoc financial analysis upon request.

Qualifications :

  • Previous work experience in FP&A.

  • Professional Designation (CA, CGA, CMA or MBA) – an asset.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of SAP & TM1 are considered an asset.

  • Good communicator, English and French, Oral and Written.
