The Inventory Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a valid master production plan for all finished products. The incumbent of this position ensures that the right quantity of finished product inventory is maintained at each distribution centre in order to optimize customer service and minimize inventory-related expenses and transportation costs.

This position reports to the Supply and Demand Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plans and controls the finished-product inventorylevels.

  • Plans the replenishment orders for eachdistribution centre.

  • Reviews the irregularity reports and updates theproduct availability dates.

  • Examines product-related problems and informs theManagement Team.

  • Updates and maintains the systems using thematerial master maintenance tool.

  • Reviews and allocates inventory based on thestock-out report.

  • Updates the parameters for the distributionrequirement planning (DRP) system for imported products.

  • Prepares the stock-out report.

  • Prepares the potential stock-out report.

  • Participates in meetings on future projects andfuture issues.

  • Prepares the quality assurance priority report.

  • Supports new-product launches and coordinates theintroduction and phase-out of products.

  • Prepares orders for semi-finished products.

  • Prepares the priority report for semi-finishedproducts.

  • Prepares the inventory forecast for all finishedproducts.

  • Prepares future requirements for third-party manufacturers.

  • Revises future requirements based on the masterproduction plan report.

  • Prepares the write-off of soon-to-expire productsand plans the reduction of quantities of soon-to-expire products before theyexpire.

  • Updates the requirement forecast provided by thedistribution centre on the basis of the sales history.

  • Updates the forecast for the next 28 months in theplanning centre system.

  • Sends purchase orders to suppliers.

  • Sends a request change to the master arrivalschedule (RCMAS) to the distribution centres concerning changes to the supply.

Qualifications:

  • Abachelor’s degree in administration.

  • 2 to 5years of experience in a similar position.

  • Experiencewith integrated management software (inventory and purchase planning managementsystem).

  • Bilingual;French & English, verbal and written.

  • Knowledgeof SAP would be a definite asset.
