The Specialty Analytics Director will play an important role in the continued success and growth of AbbVie’s
Consumer and Professional Marketing organizations and will lead the team focused on providing insights into direct to-consumer investment allocation/performance/ROI, near term digital ecosystem analytics, and next best action
development/measurement across multiple brands and therapeutic areas.
This individual will closely collaborate with internal stakeholders from Marketing, Finance, Forecasting, Media, IT, Patient Services and Customer Experience to establish understanding and alignment on the short and long term performance of tactics, program recommendation, and financial impact on AbbVie portfolio. With a focus on DTC and digital execution, this role will help to ensure AbbVie has the appropriate strategy in place for the Specialty portfolio.
The Specialty Analytics Director will be responsible for ensuring that findings, results and recommendations of
complex analysis are communicated within and across stakeholder groups, while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all results. Key areas of functional scope include:
Design and implementation of promotional response measurement
Informing investment allocation strategy across the portfolio via advanced analytic insights
Leveraging advanced analytic models, including predictive machine learning, to inform trigger-based and next best action analytics
Informing critical tactical and strategic media execution decisions via comprehensive analysis of portfolio and competitive performance
Providing analytical leadership in support of specific business unit marketing performance measurement and strategy
Designing and leading ad-hoc data analysis that advises AbbVie’s strategies and addresses high urgency portfolio-wide issues
Managing relationships and content from multiple external agencies including analytics, database, advertising, media, and digital agencies as well as internal partners
Ensuring seamless integration and collaboration across cross functional teams and stakeholders to improve analytical and strategic insight
Integrate and advise on new and relevant data sources, data mining, business information and analytical approaches to enhance insights and accuracy of key functional area
Demonstrating an awareness of current market events, healthcare policy changes and trends in AbbVie therapeutic markets and their implications for AbbVie and our long-term strategy
Demonstrating proficiency in understanding implications of policy changes and impacts on the health care landscape, disease states and treatment options
The Specialty Analytics Director, will also be responsible for achieving several people management and developmentinitiatives including;
Ongoing professional development and capability development of all individuals on the team
Effectively leading performance management processes
Adhering to all financial policies, including purchase order and compliance processes
Effectively communicate business and departmental strategies/initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Market Research, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science,Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Engineering, Finance, and/or Applied Mathematics; MBA/Masters stronglypreferred.
The Specialty Anaytics Director should have the following background:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in market analytics, forecasting, financial analysis/business partnering, managedmarkets, and field sales support in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
Working knowledge of multivariate statistics, analytical software and pharmaceutical data sources (IMS, SymphonyHealth, IHS, MMIT/ Fingertip Formulary/Business One Technologies, HIRC, etc….).
Proven ability to identify, address, and influence customer needs.
Proven ability to distill complex information into concise and impactful messages/presentations.
Proven ability to influence the development of IT systems required to support analytic data consumption.

Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies including advertising, media, digital, databaseagencies and internal partners.
Strong planning and organization skills.
Understanding of the basic principles of brand management, including brand positioning, personality & overall campaigndevelopment.
