The Intl Commercial Business Technology Solutions (BTS) group is engaged with a cross functional team of Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, Commercial and HEOR to develop solutions that address unmet needs of external stakeholders. The role will be part of Commercial BTS, and will be vertically aligned with the Intl Commercial Market Access organization GMAP. The role will be BTS’s business relationship manager and will work with various IT functions and Commercial analytics partners to conceptualize, design and arrange an integrated planning and development of technology and data solutions for various market access functions.

The role will be a technology account executive, business relationship manager, and portfolio manager for Market access team. The role will work with GMAP identify and frame strategic and tactical needs of various market access functions.

The role will serve as a key point of contact for BTS and will be responsible for understanding brand strategies, for maintaining strategic portfolio for market access group, developing an implementation plan for various market access initiatives and will be responsible for developing subject matter expertise as well as capabilities roadmap for market access group. Some of the market access functions that the role will support are:

  • Work with the HTAorganization in leveraging technology in building a Value Access knowledgeRepository

  • Working collaborativelywith Pricing to develop/deploy solutions for pricing workflow

  • Working collaborativelywith Pricing to develop solutions for IRP and LSO

  • Establish a demand planfor Key Account Management (KAM) and work with In Field effectiveness BTS team to execute KAMinitiatives and analytics

  • Work with the TA leadsfor Market Access in Oncology, Immunology and Specialty

  • Work collaborativelywith HEOR, Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to plan and execute Value BaseEngagement initiatives

  • Work with PatientServices BTS organization plan and develop value based analytics

  • Work with the GlobalMABI organization to support data and technology needs for advanced payoranalytics capabilities

  • Establishes a portfolioreview framework with market access business to prioritize and govern BTSdeliverables and solutions. Manage a portfolio of BTS initiatives by offeringprogram management services ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery


The areas of responsibilities will include

  • Lead and advance the deployment & implementation ofstrategic initiatives for GMAP

  • Develop broader and deeper knowledge of market accessfunctions and share subject matter expertise within BTS to deliver best inclass solutions for market access group

  • Build and maintain capabilities roadmap for marketaccess organization. Ensure alignment between evolving business needs andcorporate technology strategies. Act as a trusted BTS partner for marketaccess group

  • Build strategic portfolio planning framework andcapabilities.

  • Leadership interactionacross multiple functional organizations including Global MABI, HEOR, Pricing,KAM, legal, privacy and brand patient services teams. Role will involve collaborationwith internal and external partners

  • Guide the identification and assessment of emergingtechnologies, and new technology partners. Ensure effective utilization ofexisting business systems and provide strong connectivity with existingcore business processes. Workingwith the Intl Commercial BTS organization, establish a market accessportfolio strategy by leveraging existing data and technology capabilitiesalready in use across AbbVie.

  • Work with BTS and business functions to anticipateresource needs and provide appropriate resources to execute the businesspriorities. Act as single point of contact for strategic planning processincluding Long Range Planning and Business Case preparation for marketaccess group

  • Develop and prioritize portfolio of initiatives and directa team to manage multiple project projects, project priorities, by anticipatingrisks and proactive communication. Develop comprehensive project estimatesand timelines by soliciting input and collecting feedback from allimpacted stakeholders.

  • Provide active coaching to appropriate project associates andwork stream leaders.Supervisea matrix team of Project Managers, Architects, Business Systems Analysts,and Programmers on multi-million dollar strategic initiatives

  • Actwith urgency and passion. Help others be successful. Work with minimaloversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodicreviews.

  • Responsiblefor compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or anequivalent combination of education and work experience. A BS/BEng in relevantengineering or scientific area of study is preferred.

  • 12+ years of workexperience including business analysis, project management, portfoliomanagement, and strategic planning. Experience in developing and deployingcross functional business systems applications. 2+ years of experience managing or coachingemployees.

  • 3+ years ofpharmaceutical/healthcare experience. Any experience in Access &Reimbursement, Trade & Distribution channels, Market Access in Immunologyor Oncology space, Gross To Net tactics, supporting Advanced Payor Analytics,or Value Based engagements is preferred.IT systems knowledge and experience across managed markets, brand marketing andsales management in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry will bepreferred

  • Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to building trust,listen, and ask effective questions. Strong analysis and analytical skills,strategic thinking and portfolio mgmt. skills are must. This role requiresstrong communication skills and the ability to take complex or ambiguous ideasand synthesize into clear and concise action.

  • Innovative thinking,ability to influence and the ability to leverage past experience to besuccessful in an entrepreneurial environment. Demonstrated ability to coach andmentor matrix teams.

  • Interest in technology trendsand application of technology to improve end user’s experience. Proven trackrecord of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability toself-manage time and priorities.

  • Working knowledge of ITpricing and contracting practices.Negotiation with IT suppliers, Digital Health vendors and MarketingAgencies.
