Based in the offices in Maidenhead and reporting to the UK Medical Director.

We have a very exciting opportunity to effectively lead the UK HCV andSpeciality Products Medical Affairs Department, providing guidance and supportto the team in defining critical strategies and executing innovative medicalactivities that support the therapy area.

This role will develop strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholder’s i.e. Healthcare Professionals, members of the Brand Team, Medical Director, Regional and Global Medical Affairs colleagues as well as other internal functions e.g. Site Management and Monitoring, Legal, Finance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provideleadership to the UK HCV and Specialty Products Medical Affairs team.

  • Leadthe UK HCV and Specialty Products Medical Affairs department in definingcritical strategies and executing medical activities that support thetherapy area.

  • Ensureproactive scientific and clinical input by members of the Medical Divisionand the HCV and Specialty Products Medical Affairs Department into theBrand teams and key brand initiatives.

  • Assistand advise Brand team members on promotional activities, and ensurecompliance with the ABPI Prescription Medicines Code of Practice

  • Respondto Inter-company Code of Practice complaints and liaise with the PMCPA

  • Developand maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, the therapeuticarea and the structure and workings of the NHS

Qualifications, Knowledgeand Experience

In order to be successful in this role, you should have/be:

  • Medically qualified with a number ofyears clinical experience post-registration and GMC registered or PhD scientistor pharmacist background

  • Experience in the pharmaceuticalindustry

  • Experience of working in a complexmatrix organisation

  • Strong leadership skills
