  • Systematic evaluation of in vitro methods for fundamental investigation on the formation of species during drug release of amorphous solid dispersion formulations and their impact on bioavailability

  • Development and implementation of highly sensitive analytical methods for the separation and identification of species in dissolved amorphous solid dispersions

  • Systematic investigation of transport processes of poorly-soluble drugs across membranes

  • Manufacturing of oral pharmaceutical formulations in collaboration with Pharmaceutical Development

  • Transfer of the developed methods to pilot development projects and implementation into routine usage

  • Active participation in international and interdisciplinary project teams within Pharmaceutical R&D

  • Documentation of scientific results in patent applications and publications

  • Presentation of scientific concepts and results within the company and externally

  • Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences with strong pharmacological background or Ph.D. in related sciences

  • Extensive experience in characterizing transport processes of pharmaceutical formulations via artificial and biological membranes, in dissolution testing and particle characterization of pharmaceutical formulations

  • Extensive expertise and practical experience in in vitro methods to study drug dissolution and bioavailability

  • Experience in separation and characterization of particles formed from pharmaceutical formulations including, e.g. asymmetric field flow fractionation and light scattering detection

  • Proven track record in assessing and optimizing analytical techniques

  • Knowledge in pharmacokinetic and in vivo – in vitro correlation are advantageous

  • Collaborative team player and excellent communicator

  • Ability to effectively collaborate in global, interdisciplinary project teams with members from adjacent disciplines including Formulation, DMPK and Pharmacometrics

  • Systematic work style and analytical thinking

  • Fluent English language skills

  • Good German language skills (German proficiency certificate B2 or higher)
