AbbVie US Commercial Organization is looking for a Solutions Architect to be part of the Architecture and Strategic Initiatives team in the digital transformation journey to define information architecture, application architecture, technology architecture, and deliver end-to-end next generation integrated care platform for best in class patient service programs across Immunology and Oncology franchises.
This position will report to Associate Director of Architecture and Strategic Initiatives for Patient Services, and will work across Access & Reimbursement, Patient Outreach, Patient Services Marketing and Tele-Experience functional areas of patient services to develop the Patient Relationship Management platform, Data Management Platform, and Marketing automation platform to deliver seamless, unified and exceptional experience to patients and internal stakeholders.
This position is expected to conceive, design, engineer, and implement data and software solutions that solve significant business problems, generate new proposals and lead the implementation efforts, Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains across Patient Services functional areas.
This position is expected to act as a lead in his/her area of expertise and critically evaluate relevant technological advances and integrate this knowledge into new business technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities Includes:
Lead the Centralized patient services technology architecture team that is responsible to define Business Systems Architecture, Information Architecture, Application Architecture, Technical Architecture, and infrastructure architecture for all brand patient service programs.
Define core architecture and architecture guiding principles and ensure compliance to the defined principle.
Conduct formal technical research and define adoption process to solve business problems and improve patient experience
Define technology architecture roadmap for digital transformation initiatives to launch next generation patient services platform using range of technologies including but not limited to .NET, SQL Server, NoSQL, API, Microservices, TIBCO ESB, SFDC, Contact Center, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Campaign, data lake, Message queue, etc.
Define cloud migration strategy for migrating existing .NET applications hosted in IaaS cloud to AWS or Azure PaaS
Define DevOps process for patient services in collaboration with enterprise architecture team to gain productivity improvements and reduce the time taken to move the committed code to production.
Collaborates with business stakeholders, technology providers, and other architects to develop technology and information architectures, strategies, and roadmaps
Effectively function as a principle architect, generating new technological proposals and leading those efforts. Anticipate and critically evaluate technological advances or competitive threats and respond with appropriate new strategies.
Demonstrate creative 'out of the box' thinking to solve difficult problems and champion new technologies to achieve project goals.
Independently responsible for technology within his/her area of expertise on multiple projects. Demonstrate mastery across a wide range of data and software engineering, including data warehousing, data integration, and software development.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical business, and utilize this knowledge in the rapid advancement of agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions
Recognized and sought out as an expert in his/her discipline within the company and possibly externally.
Shapes relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.
May mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals.
Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 14+ years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 12+ years of experience. Eight years of experience in application program development. Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Requires in‐depth knowledge of the systems development life cycle, client area’s functions and systems, and systems application program development technological alternatives.
At least 4 years of leadership experience as Solutions Architect in server side, client side and cloud technologies
Experience in domain-specific architecture concepts and emerging technologies
Proven expertise in building and delivering large scale service-oriented system architecture
Broad knowledge of Information Technology Systems, with strong understanding of the relationship between business processes, applications, databases, operating systems, processing platforms, storage platforms, security systems and networks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly explain options and alternatives, and rationale for associated recommendations
Ability to efficiently and concisely illustrate and communicate concepts in words and diagrams
Ability to abstract core elements or components of solution or business need and propose common/re-usable services
Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge in a fast-paced, business and technical environment
Strong understanding of enterprise and service design patterns and best practices
Enterprise application integration (EAI) experience\
Strong understanding of SOA and Web service concepts, design patterns and best practices
Demonstrated working knowledge of computer science concepts including algorithms, data structures, encryption and networking
Flexibility in designing systems - including leveraging new or emerging technologies
