Directs large, cross-functional projects or programs in Marketing Operations that includes integration efforts, information management strategies, organizational change, systems upgrades, and process re-engineers to improve US Commercial’s performance. These projects will be operational and broad-based, requiring collaboration across the US Commercial marketing teams, operations, information technology, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, key vendors, ad agencies and others. The position analyzes trends, makes recommendations and implements change management plans for business and system process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsiblefor implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality systemby the following:

  • Knowledgeand Skills: expert in US Commercial Marketing operations and allieddepartment interdependencies. Possesses a broad understanding of overallUS Commercial business, structure, and priorities and proactively setplans to meet evolving business needs.

  • Combinesinternal US Commercial knowledge with external environment understandingto evaluate vendor capabilities to meet business needs. In collaborationwith cross-functional team members, is responsible for the discovery,design, configuration, and requirements for new systems or reengineeringprojects.

  • Leveragecritical thinking/ problem-solving skills to devise innovative solutions.Proactively utilizes advanced creative and problem-solving skills todevelop best practices for function. Lead collaborative efforts across adiverse customer and vendor base. Deliver complex information in ways thatare easily understood.

  • Managea diverse workload, multiple demands and competing priorities within thebusiness environment.

  • Leadershiprole in the identification and coordination of value added processimprovements for US Commercial Marketing Operations; Develop strategicplan for future phases of software integration/new programs that alignwith US Commercial’s annual budget planning cycle.

  • Meetregularly with key stakeholders, executive sponsors, and working teammembers to ensure program oversight, maintain timeline and budget, anddisseminate project status information on a routine basis. Incollaboration with cross-functional team members, is responsible for thediscovery, design, configuration, and requirements for new systems orreengineering projects.

  • Coordinateslogistics for internal and external resources to ensure time efficiencyand to meet internal client needs. Communicates timely and accurateinformation on project progress across functional teams to prioritizeprojects, meet project timelines and exceed quality standards .Developsand updates policies and procedures that reflect improvements/changes toMarketing Operations activities.

  • Effectivelyutilize all available resources, either within or outside of direct spanof control, to manage diverse workload and maximize productivity. Ensurethat project resources are secured in time to support work plans.Identifies and resolves any resource issues to maintain project timelineand goals.

  • Assistin managing program budget, including development of business andfinancial justification for key capital projects.

  • B.A./B.S./Business, Communications or Advertising (MBA not required, but desirable) or equivalent business experience within AbbVie or a related industry.

  • 8+ years of experience in project or program management.

  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven leadership competencies to include setting vision and strategy, building teams, knowing the business, driving for results, and encouraging open exchange of ideas and knowledge.

  • Strong, proven management experience across multiple functions including management of exempt personnel in fast-paced, service/team environment.

  • Highly motivated change agent that can drive business-focused solutions.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to distill highly complex requirements into compelling business objectives.

  • Strong problem solving abilities in complex, compliance regulated department.
