The AbbVie Experiential Internship Program
Asan AbbVie Experiential Intern, you'll participate in a paid, ten to twelve-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students.
Department Overview – Development Design Center (DDC)
DDC is a newly established department under Development. The goal of DDC is to provide analytical insight to strengthen and optimize clinical decisions. DDC will work with all funded and “pending 1” phase 2 and phase 3 clinical study teams to help them to think outside the box, to leverage various data sources to inform patient population, enrollment timeline, cost and feasibility, and to evaluate more innovative statistical design options.
Pool different enrollment related data sources together.
Summarize, evaluate and implement advanced machine learning methodologies on enrollment data to increase performance.
Develop a user interface to standardize such process
Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship
Ph.D student in statistics, biostatistics or computer science related.
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).
Experience in machine learning methodology and applications.
Strong experience in python and C++.
Experience with big data like RNA sequence data.
Sound technical skills and communication ability, both oral and written.
