AbbVie Payroll Operations is responsible for calculating and remitting pay to AbbVie’s 30,000 employees located across 70affiliates. Payroll Operations manages these responsibilities across the following 3 areas:

AMERICAS: 18 countries supported, approx. 15,000 employees

EMEA: 48 countries supported, approx. 11,000 employees

JAPAC: 11 countries supported, 2,200 employees

AbbVie’s model is based on standardized processes, roles, responsibilities and governance, in which HR manages compensation & benefits programs, Payroll Operations manages the payroll calculations, bank files and all stakeholders including the Business Process Outsourcer (BPO), and Finance manages the downstream accounting and treasury responsibilities.

Junior Payroll Analyst

This entry-level Payroll Analyst will be responsible for processing and correcting payroll transactions for specific countries as assigned (generally smaller, less complex countries or assisting with larger, more complex countries), supporting pre-payroll activities, year-end payroll activities, reviewing and verifying files generated internally or by global payroll vendors (GPV), enforcing key payroll deadlines, as well as answering employee/manager queries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partneringwith internal stakeholders and with Global Payroll Vendor (GPV) to processpayroll and resolve payroll transactions that are in error.

  • Reviewand validate payroll files (eg. Payroll Reconciliation File, Bank File) andreports generated internally or by the GPV and approve for processing.

  • Supportpre-payroll activities (eg. finalize data entry, review master data filequality, and confirm time/payroll data completeness).

  • Assistin resolving input errors (and other errors) from the third party vendors orinternal AbbVie stakeholders.

  • Assistin resolving Bank Errors (with AbbVie Treasury’s support).

  • SupportYear-End Payroll processing activities (eg. develop and provide payrollcalendar, review year-end tax reports and notify AbbVie employees ofavailability of tax information).

  • Respondto internal AbbVie stakeholders (Tax, Treasury, Finance and BHR) with regard toquestions or issues they have raised around payroll data and/or payrollreports.

  • Answeremployee/manager queries or assist GPV with other queries it cannot resolve.

  • Support role for global, regional and countryspecific projects.

  • Some travel may be required.

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Finance / Accounting.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, in English

  • Very good knowledge of German, Italian, or Spanish would be an assest

  • Working knowledge of Workday and experience integrating with 3rd party applications is a plus.

  • A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, as well as to get results through collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.
