Key Responsibilities Includes:
Provide scientific and technical support for, and help maintain professional and credible relationships with, key opinion leaders and academic centres to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on the products and therapeutic areas of interest.
Conduct trainings, deliver scientific presentations on assigned therapeutic area or product to physicians, payers, and Abbvie internal stakeholders individually or in group meetings
Maintain up-to-date scientific knowledge on assigned Abbvie product(s) , key external competitive data, new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area, and advice the brand teams on the strategic implications of these new developments on the Abbvie business.
Work with Affiliate, Area, and Global Evidence Teams to identify gaps in Evidence, Education, and Standard of care and suggest strategies to close these gaps.
Work with the Area Brand teams to develop Area strategy and review and provide inputs into the Affiliates’ Long Range Plans (LRP), Functional Plans, and Affiliate Launch Readiness plans
Assist in the review of IIS proposals, PMOS, RWE studies, Registries, epidemiological surveys, etc and provide medical support for registration studies at the regional/local level
Provide advice to the Area NPI team on the SOC, unmet medical needs, and other data to inform the JAPAC strategies for Abbvie’s early assets in development.
Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies and accepted standards of best practice

This position reports into the Area Oncology TA Medical Lead based in Singapore
This position has no direct reports

If currently employed with any JAPAC Abbvie affiliate, option to be located in the applicant’s current Abbvie affiliate office may be discussed.
MD degree preferably with appropriate post graduate training in hematology and/or oncology and at least 3 years experience as medical affairs professional in hematology or oncology at affiliate or regional level.
In exceptional cases, suitably qualified scientists with at least 5 years relevant medical affairs experience in hematology or oncology may be considered.
Knowledge of the scientific methods applied to clinical research and the current legislative/regulatory controls
Solid knowledge of the drug development process would be an advantage
Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity
Fluency with written and spoken English
