The Business Finance Manager role is to maximize value of the Business operations by partnering with multi-disciplinary teams as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying opportunities and risks to consistently deliver on the business objectives.

The Business Finance Manager is:

  • a strategic partner to the business team, built on strong commercial acumen, financial expertise and decision support skills;

  • integrated within Brand/Functional teams – understanding the environment and Patient Journeys, ultimately maximizing the P&L ;

  • maintaining appropriate stewardship and controls throughout the affiliates’ operations and performance; ensuring integrity of financial information and documentation; leading the regional internal and external consolidation and reporting;

  • externally engaged with Finance contacts from a variety of stakeholder groups. Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Decision Partnering

  • partner with the Brand/Functional teams, providing strategic support in the decision making by creating models, making educated suggestions and monitoring and identifying opportunities and risks

  • P&L Management

  • coordinate individual functions’ and brands’ P&Ls, maintain oversight of budget and spending with full responsibility for:

  • The Business Unit

  • Business Intelligence

  • Commercial Excellence

  • support the planning cycles for the LRPs, annual plans/updates/LBEs and for individual brand/functional campaigns aligned with the affiliate and regional guidelines

  • Work closely with the brand/functional teams to accurately forecast sales and financial performance by utilizing and challenging commercial models and expense assumptions

  • Financial Reporting Data Interpretation

  • Collaborate with Area Financial Services (AFS) and local team to review, prepare and complete timely and accurate month-end closing

  • Supports the monthly analysis to include appropriate variance analysis and provide clear and concise commentary to expand management’s understanding and drive for results

  • Track and analyze actuals versus budget for individual brands, functions and specific campaigns

  • Support the preparation and distribution of the monthly affiliate financial reports that bring the numbers to life

  • Supports Affiliate’s internal and external reporting/consolidation, being fully responsible for the high-quality preparation and submission of:

  • D.2.0 Report, with focus on P&L

  • Single Point of Contact

  • Provide single point of contact for the Brand/Functional teams on various financial topics

  • Coordinate and supportall matrix organizations as needed under the operating model

  • Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate and timely submissions of ADS , work closely with the brand teams to accurately forecast sales, inventory levels and financial performance by utilizing and challenging commercial and demand models and expense assumptions

  • appropriate KPI’s are tracked and exposure issues are promptly resolved

  • Contribute to the monthly S&OP process. Monitor variables affecting supply and distribution performance and ensure corrective action

  • Work to optimize affiliates’ processes and ensure compliance.

  • Ensure good asset management

  • Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Ensure proper internal controls by ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, provide monitoring of compliance, ensure adherence to local legislation

  • Ensure financial results are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies, Sarbanes Oxley and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Higher degree in Finance

  • 3-5 years of experience in finance planning or reporting in international companies

  • Fluent English

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excel advanced user

  • SAP knowledge is a plus
