Responsible and accountable to the Site Director for the safe, reliable, efficient and compliant operation of all ABBVIE, LTD manufacturing facilities and equipment, site infrastructure, utilities systems, and Cogeneration plant. The Director is responsible for the procurement of material, fuel, equipment, control of expenses, training of personnel in each specific area, planning and scheduling of equipment maintenance.
Responsible for ABBVIE, LTD Capital Plan and the effective implementation of the projects. The Director is responsible to provide a safe working environment within the AbbVie, LTD Operations and ensure adequate security enforcement to protect employees and AbbVie property.
Key Responsibilities Includes:
Production, purchase, distribution and monitoring of all utilities such as: steam, plant compressed air, process air, process chilled water and HVAC chilled water, process, soft, potable, fire water; and electricity utilized by the entire complex.
Assure operation of a two 9 megawatt cogeneration plants producing electricity and 20,000 lbm/hr of steam. Plant must operate over 95% of the time with scheduled reliability in excess of 99%.
Responsible for the development and implementation of utilities, maintenance and engineering related policies, systems, objectives and strategies as required to provide adequate and reliable sources according to established quality, reliability and cost standards.
Directs a training program which ensures the development of qualified and effective operating personnel, capable of operating and maintaining all of ABBVIE, LTD systems and equipment during both normal and emergency conditions.
Is responsible for all technically and legally required paper work necessary to assure documentation of personnel, facilities, instruments and systems and procedures required by the appropriate regulations.
Directs applicable programs to ensure equipment is properly maintained to protect the asset value for the long term and to ensure reliable operations for ABBVIE, LTD and Site Utilities.
Directs all security resources (manpower, equipment, etc.) and establish policies and procedures to assure an adequate program for the protection of employees and company properties.
Responsible for developing, submitting, obtaining approval and executing ABBVIE, Ltd Capital Plan in accordance with Division and Corporate policies and financial guidelines.
Direct accountability for Environmental performance within AbbVie, Ltd Responsible for successful completion of all regulatory EHS expectations throughout AbbVie, Ltd
Direct accountability for assuring the Engineering Department complies with all applicable quality regulations including but not limited to FDA cGMP, Corporate Quality Policies and Guidelines, Division Policies, processes and procedure as well as ABBVIE, LTD procedures and practices.
Direct accountability for assuring the Engineering Department complies with all applicable Corporate Finance, Division Finance and ABBVIE, LTD Finance Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Implement Environmental programs and processes at AbbVie, Ltd facilities to achieve global LRP objectives, standards and metrics. Deploy established tools and processes that enable that consistent application of AbbVie Global Engineering Policies, Programs and Systems.
Direct accountability for the Maintenance, Project Engineering, Process Control and Environmental performance within ABBVIE, LTDAccountable for the efficient and reliable operations of all facilities, equipment, manufacturing process equipment, Cogeneration, Utilities and Waste Water Management.
Direct budget responsibility for ABBVIE, LTD Maintenance and direct Utilities budget.
Responsible over the organization structure and staffing, compensation, hiring, termination recommendation and promotion of approximately 100 employees.
B.S in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
M.S. or M.B.A. desirable.
Ten (10) years of related work experience with ability to work in large/complex manufacturing pharmaceutical environment.
Minimum of Experience
Pharma Operations - 2-3 years
Project Engineering - 2-3 years
Or equivalent relevant experience
10 + years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with supporting biologics and solid dosage production preferred.
8 years Project Management experience required.
4 - 6 years Supervisory / Management experience with budget responsibility
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
Strong problem solving abilities. Proven track record of managing projects through to completion
Excellent Communication Skills with all layers of management
Must be eager to participate in the development of new ideas and/or improvements of existing ones. Should have good situational awareness and be mentally alert with a good capacity for evaluation, analysis and problem solving.
Must have the ability to focus, develop plans, cope with stress, use judgment to accomplish results, and good interpersonal skills.
