We are recruiting for 3 engineering interns. Three for our Medical Devices site in Sligo.

Our Medical Devices site is AbbVie’s Global centre of excellence for design control and precision engineering in the production of drug delivery devices.

We are looking for an Engineering intern interested in Manufacturing and Design.

Sample projects will include;

  • Design of jigs and fixtures as required

  • Upgrades to assembly equipment including validation.

  • Use of 3D Printers to build prototypes as required.

  • Root Cause Investigation using tools such as fishbone, 5whys, etc.

  • Alarm / Defect Analysis and trending

  • PFMEA updates

  • Identify CI projects and implement

  • PM review and updates

  • OSI PI development

  • Data Integrity

We are looking for an Engineering intern for a role in Operations Excellence. The successful candidate will work on manufacturing improvement projects, supply chain, PSM Purchasing and operations excellence.

Sample projects include;

  • Updating Current Value Stream Maps

  • Identification of improvement opportunities and generation of Future State Maps

  • Assisting Operational Excellence Program Manager to facilitate Kaizen events

  • Leading continuous improvement projects

  • Data capturing and Trend analysis of Lean KPIs

We are looking for a Moulding Engineering intern.

Sample projects include;

  • Advanced manufacturing centre technology development including metal and plastic 3D printing.

  • Six sigma training and yellow belt cost Improvement project implementation using Lean Six Sigma principles.

  • Project management of manufacturing data analysis and trending.

  • PM task analysis and alarm trending

  • New mould introduction and validation.

The ideal candidates will be from an Engineering discipline,

  • Studying for a Bachelors or Master’s Degree student in Mechanical, Chemical or BioMedical Engineering. Min of 3.0 GPS or 2.1

  • Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship

  • Knowledge of computers or software would be advantageous.

  • The person should be process orientate and have high attention to detail.

  • EU working permit
