We are currently looking for a Control Systems (Automation)Engineer to join our team at Ballytivnan, Sligo. The successful candidate will provide technical support to manufacturing operations throughout the site. They will also provide technical leadership and control of all control system activities in the manufacturing facility in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providesupport to all control system related issues which will includetroubleshooting, optimization and documentation control.

  • Leadershipof control systems validation activities.

  • Electro-Mechanicaltroubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Identificationof areas of opportunity for new technology.

  • Delivertechnical training to other members of the Engineering team.

  • Support theEngineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained tomeet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.

  • Presentproject status updates at various management levels

  • Participatein Risk Management activities as required.

  • Theincumbent must be fully proficient in:

Vision – Cognex

Robotics – ABB, Fanuc, Epson.

Servo controls

Historian – OSI PI

PLC – Siemens and Alan Bradley


  • Third level qualification in a relevant Technicaldiscipline

Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a Control Systems Engineer ina GMP Environment in the medical device industry.

  • 3+ years of experience of the 21 CFR Part 11 and EUAnnex 11 requirements for automated systems in the medical deviceindustry.

  • Knowledge and experience of interfacing systems withplant historians such as OSI-PI.

  • Knowledge and experience of the life cycle managementof control systems, including backup, recovery, user access controls,configuration management and change management.

  • Knowledge and experience of Windows operating systemadministration.
