Reporting to the Oncology Medical Manager, this position represents the affiliate medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product and relevant therapeutic areas. The position provides medical/scientific support to key customers for assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with external experts,in a strictly scientific, non-promotional manner, and in full compliance with applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie’s policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice.


  • Providescientific and technical leadership to ensure professional and crediblerelationships with thought leaders and external experts of strategic importanceto Abbvie.

  • Ensurea strong medical and scientific presence for Abbvie in key academic centers byfacilitation of research and educational initiatives, while supporting requestsfor medical and scientific information on products or areas of therapeuticinterest to Abbvie.

  • Supportinternal teams such as sales and marketing and members of the Affiliate BrandTeam to develop their scientific and technical expertise through the deliveryof trainings and scientific update presentations. Work collaborativelyand cross-functionally with other in-field members while retaining functionalindependence.

  • Participate in theimplementation of pre-launch and post-launch activities of a new oncologyproduct or indication of an existing oncology product

  • Assist in the initiation,oversight and follow up of assigned clinical studies and medical projects(e.g. post marketing clinical activities such as registry/databaseprojects, epidemiological surveys. All such activities must comply withapplicable local laws, guidelines, and codes of practice, SOPs, and AbbVieR&D (GPRD) SOPs.

  • Actas the point of contact with thought leaders to facilitate investigatorinitiated study (IIS) ideas and requests for support to the local and globalmedical teams as appropriate.

  • Serveas a point of contact within the Medical Affairs team for Algeria thoughtleaders and external experts in order to satisfy their needs for scientificknowledge in a therapeutic area and, when requested, AbbVie oncology/hematologymedicines, to support their safe, effective and appropriate use.

  • Participate in the selectionprocess to identify appropriately qualified physicians the Company wouldwish to engage in collaborative efforts – such as potential researchcollaborations, or lecture/meeting support (Round Tables, Congresses,Symposia, etc.); and to ensure a high level of scientific or educationalintegrity in these collaborative efforts.

  • Deliver credible presentationson scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups (meetings,clinical sessions, etc.), where requested.

  • Attend relevant ScientificSocieties meetings and Conferences, and develop summaries of key messagesfor use within the Company – such as key areas of scientific/companyinterest, new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in thetherapeutic area, etc.

  • Awarenessand understanding of competitor issues/intelligence

  • Playan active part within the Brand team and identify opportunities to workcollaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver on Brandobjectives

  • Upon request, assist physiciansto appropriately direct requests for access to Company products on a namedpatient or compassionate use basis, subject to all applicable legal andregulatory requirements.

  • Ensurethat all activities and interactions are conducted withdue regard toallapplicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct,AbbVie’s policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice.

  • Oncology & or Hematology experience is preferred

  • Medical or Pharmacy Degree

  • Keen interest in developing andmaintaining expert knowledge for assigned therapeutic area/product and inmedical research in general.

  • Solid knowledge of thepharmaceutical environment and excellent skills to set stake-holdersrelationship.

  • General knowledge on drugdevelopment and clinical research is an advantage

  • Strong commitment to compliancewith the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality andintegrity.

  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills including strong presentation skills (French & English )

  • Stronginterpersonal skills
